I took my cat, Cheeto, to the vet after finding her on the side of the road with the skin on her head ripped off. They said they would keep her and perform surgery. The next day, they said they were keeping her to see how she'd react to the medicine and told me to call back Monday to pick her up. When we got there, they hadn't done the surgery as promised. They sent her home with the wound still open, her skull exposed, and medicine in a syringe. I wasn't sure if it was the right medicine, but we used it, and it seemed okay for a couple of days. The following Friday, they gave me different oral medicine for infections. A lump formed on Cheeto's head, pushing up her skull. The next visit, they acknowledged this but gave me yet another medicine that didn't help. It turned out I was using a dog ear treatment, which was not only unsuitable for cats but specifically for ears, so it did nothing for her head. The next time I went, they told me she was shaking really badly, which could lead to seizures—something she wasn't doing before I took her back. They said they were going to fix her head and stitch it up, which makes me wonder, if they could do it, why didn't they do it the first time she needed it? We called to check on her the next day, and they hadn’t done the procedure yet. They told me to call back later to check on her again once it was done. I called four hours later, thinking they would have finished it, but they hadn’t even started on her, nor had they fed her or tried to feed her through a syringe. Few more days later they had still not started on her and told me she’s getting worse and that they have nothing else to do and are going to put her down, she had been there for probably a week or two not only did they never start on her head but they didn’t give her food or water through a syringe like I said I had been doing so she had to be put down. I agreed. They left my cat in their freezer for well over a week, maybe even two, and didn’t bother to call to let us know she was ready to be picked up. On the last day I called, we discussed when I could pick her up. So the next day, I went to get her, and they had her wrapped in puppy pads, taped up, and zipped in a bag. And another thing each time I had called they told me that she had NOT drink or eat, so they basically killed my cat slowly but surly It smells awful there, and it was hard to breathe because the smell was so bad. Not only did it smell bad or them lagging around but going to this vet did my cat no good at all. I wish I'd let her heal on her own. Now, Cheeto is much worse than she had ever been and despite her head wound she was such a friendly playful cat. Be careful who you trust with your animals. - Kaylee Hall
