Indianapolis Animal Urgent Care Introduce
For pet owners across Central Indiana, finding reliable, compassionate veterinary care when your regular clinic is closed can be a significant source of stress. The good news is that residents of Indianapolis and surrounding communities have access to dedicated, high-quality care for their furry family members at facilities like Indianapolis Animal Urgent Care (IAUC). Founded by local Indianapolis emergency veterinarians, this clinic is specifically designed to bridge the gap between routine check-ups and full 24/7 emergency hospitals, providing timely and efficient care for urgent, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries in dogs and cats.
The mission of IAUC is clear: to offer compassionate care for sick, injured, and ill dogs and cats in a convenient, efficient, and transparent way. This means pet owners can seek expert medical attention for their pets during extended hours without the often-prohibitive costs and long wait times associated with traditional 24-hour emergency hospitals. This commitment to accessibility and quality service makes it a highly recommended choice for many local pet parents who need urgent attention for their companions when their family veterinarian is unavailable.
The facility has earned high praise from the community for its empathetic staff, clean environment, and clear communication. According to testimonials from real local clients, every staff member, from the front desk to the examining doctor, is noted for being incredibly kind, compassionate, and patient, which is a significant relief when a pet is distressed or in pain. The attention to detail, such as the option of having a TV playing calming content like Bob Ross in the exam rooms, further highlights their focus on a low-stress, comfortable experience for both the pet and the owner—a true hallmark of superior veterinary care in the Indianapolis area.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I cannot recommend this urgent care enough! Every single staff member was so kind, compassionate, and patient. My dog is a little bit of a stinker, which requires a little extra care and attention when in a clinical setting. Every staff member was so considerate and put his comfort in mind. I absolutely love the exam rooms, there is a TV either playing the weather or Bob Ross (absolutely love) and there is a button to press when you need assistance. This facility is so CLEAN! I had to help guide my little stinker in the back towards the x-ray, so I got a sneak peek of their equipment, tables, etc. and it looked squeaky clean and smelled squeaky clean too! This to me was such a great sign that every staff member takes cleanliness seriously, which I very much appreciated. Dr Potts was wonderful, she was so kind and compassionate, and she did fantastic with Colt! I saw them two days in a row, and each time they delivered top-tier medical care and kindness. Each staff member seemed like they really enjoyed being there, which is wonderful!I will only go to this urgent care for any of my urgent needs, while I hope I won't have to visit often or any time soon (no offense), I feel so much comfort knowing I have them I can always count for great care.
September 17 · allison mickelI adopted Lily only one month ago. My regular vet couldn’t see her until four days later but she was crying, showing signs of pain. ALL staff members were FRIENDLY and PLEASANT . Customer service was ABOVE EXCELLENT which is rare in 2025. Vet was so KIND and CARING, I felt safe and welcome. OUTSTANDING service and I will follow up with my vet.If needed, I WILL return to this wonderful facility.
October 10 · Janeta LifordI think this is one of the best urgent care vets--indeed one of the best vet clinics--I've ever visited. I came in with an asthmatic cat and called several times later with followup questions and every staff person I spoke to was unfailingly kind, responsive and helpful. Your clinic made my cat and me feel that we were your number one concern. Dr. Potts was fantastic, but so were all the techs. I cannot rate this clinic highly enough. Top marks for professionalism, competence, kindness and compassion--as well as their patience for nervous humans as well as their nervous pets.
July 07 · Julie GrayWe brought our beloved 14 year old Ferrell/Community cat, Catarina, in to be looked at on Monday. She has always been considered part of our family so when she hadn’t eaten but a morsel or two in 4 days we were concerned but confused because she was still acting normal. At one point she had odd breathing but it lasted only a little bit and she was back to being her spicy self. My daughter and I looked up places near us and because this clinic was near my daughter’s work we chose it. Staff was amazing from the start. Unfortunately we did not know about an underlying health condition and our precious Cata went into cardiac arrest there at the clinic. She did not make it. The vet and staff were shocked as much as we were and ordered ex-rays that showed she had heart disease. Her little lungs were full of fluid. In our shock and grief we were comforted and taken such good care of. I was expected to be taken to the front desk to pay and the dear staff said they would send it via email and that in itself shocked me! This clinic immediately gave me good vibes but not pressuring me during my grief with paying the bill got my respect! I 100% recommend this place and I want to thank the staff for helping us through a very difficult time. These people care so much and they are not out to fleece you of your money. 🥹 Our Cata will forever be in our hearts and we are grateful to the staff for trying everything to help her! ❤️
August 21 · Kelly WurstI brought my cat Cookie here last week. Cookie had ingested something that had poisoned him, and was in really bad condition, like he was on his death bed. Dr Potts and her assistants were compassionate, caring, and skilled, and went above & beyond to bring Cookie back to life! I'm so grateful to Dr. Potts and her team. Also their prices were reasonable compared to other urgent care/ emergency vets, and they didn't try to nickel & dime me. Also the facilities were luxurious, clean, and beautiful. I wish they did regular vet care, I would make them my regular vet. Thank you so much Indy Animal Urgent Care, for helping my fur baby!
