★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Today, my visit was a sad one. I had to make the most difficult decision a pet owner has to make to send your beloved companion across the rainbow bridge. Our 14/15 year old English Springer awoke last Wednesday, unable to get up and walk. She quit eating. I called the vet to make an appointment. I asked to have the weekend with her. Dr. Grasso and the staff were so kind. I held my beautiful girl as she crossed the rainbow bridge. I know even though it was so very hard I did what was best for Sophie. RIP Girl.
February 04 · Barbara G TheurerI have used Albany veterinary Clinic for the past five years. In those five years, I have been fairly satisfied with the care. However, the care that my cat received this Saturday, May 30, 2025 is what I can only categorize as abuse. I have an aggressive cat and the vet is well aware of this.Unfortunately, I took my pet in for an emergency visit due to a possible UTI and/or injured leg due to her falling off of a table. The vet examined her with gloves on. It was decided to shave her private area. It was also decided to give her an anti-inflammatory shot. During the process of giving her the shot by the vet tech, the veterinarian lost control of her. He then grabbed her and picked her up and slammed her down hard on the metal table, then picked her up and dropped her hard into her cat carrier. He was visibly angry. I was actually in shock about what happened. I received no apology for this abuse of my pet. Like I said, she is an aggressive pet and Dr. Dave knows this yet, did not put a muzzle or a cone around her. He just put on gloves to handle her. He’s a small man and if he can’t handle a large cat, he should’ve said so, and I would gladly have taken her somewhere else. I have withdrawn both of my pets from the care at Albany veterinary Clinic. Some may love Dr. Dave and he is probably OK for pets that are docile. I’ve never in my life witnessed such an egregious act on any of my pets. If you have an aggressive pet, I suggest finding a provider that is more experienced with this and one that does not have a temper like what I witnessed I am heartbroken that I did not do more but, like I said, I was absolutely shocked. What’s worse is that I turned around and paid $100 for the visit.
