★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have been debating on whether or not to post this but if it prevents one person from going through what we did it is worth it. Awhile back we had a dog that was very elderly (16 year old chihuahua) and was at the end of his life. For about a year we knew he was nearing the end and we did everything possible for him to make him comfortable. The last few months we ate very little and lost a lot of weight. On his final day he had a seizure and started having a hard time breathing. We didn’t want him to suffer and called Westgate to assist with a euthanasia. They are not are normal veterinarian but we needed someone closer, our normal veterinarian is 45 minutes away. When we got there they got us in quickly. We went back, as we do with all our pets, to help keep him calm. The veterinarian gave him a relaxer” and then went to his computer. Meanwhile our poor boy is bleeding all over the table, almost like he was bleeding out. The vet didn’t “notice” until we said something. Then he rushed over and wiped up the blood before administer the final medication. The veterinarian did not say one word to us about the experience or explanation on what he was doing. He was very cold and distant. Never again will we be going back to this vet and I highly recommend that the veterinarian either retires or closes
September 29 · Amanda NobleTook my 8yo toy poodle here for some much needed (overdue) dental work and they treated her with such amazing care from the time I dropped her off to the time I picked her up. I was reassured that she was okay numerous times. They also thoroughly explained her after care instructions to me upon picking her up. I was an anxious mess, but I am very pleased with the service here and if and when my pets need to be seen again, this is where we will take them! Thank you all so much for your help and kindness!
August 20 · Alora AdamsI am severely distraught, overwhelmed and honestly so upset.I took my sweet baby (puppy) to Westgate, previously I called about an appointment and set one up with the receptionist.Once I arrive , I'll say we got in there fairly quick but when he told me to get her out he was very fast paced, like he was in a hurry, mind you'll they close at 5pm, I arrived at 4:45pm. So they scheduled me at the end of everyone's shift which was fine , the whole point isMy PUPPY WAS GIVEN NO DIAGNOSIS.she had ZERO TESTS DONE.He gives her nutri cal and a nausea injectionBUT NO DIAGNOSIS.we're talking about a 9 pound, 6 month old puppy. It's almost like they refused to give her any tests , cared more about the money then my puppy, so I did what I was told. To take her home and if she pukes to bring her back. I kid you not, she pukes before we left the lobby. He didn't explain this medicine had side effects.(The Nausea medicine he injected her with)It made her vomit , horribly. She was told not to eat for 12-24 HOURS. BUT NOT DIAGNOSED WITH ANYTHING.so she didn't even have her last meal either . She suffered and she is suffering now.So she is now fighting for her chance to live because you people refused to do the proper evaluation of my beautiful dog.I hope you're ashamed, and I am not happy. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG OR ANY ANIMAL HERE. THEY'RE VERY NEGLECTFUL. This is my baby , and this is even how she looked when I took her to Westgate.
January 31 · Tepa L WoodcockThe original review is from 2023 .... Google updated the date when I added a photo recentlymMy new review from our 5/15/2025 is not nearly as favorable unfortunately. And here's why:Uncool to prescribe a $50 tushy powder when you're recommending I put my beloved cat up for adoption because it takes 3 people to hold her down to clean her tushy.First of all, adopting out my beloved cat ain't happening. Not only because Ezzie is my "child" but also because who's going to adopt a cat primarily to get the family together to clean her tushy?Seriously. SHAME on you in both regards. Please refund that $50 powder nonsense that you charged me for knowing I could never possibly administer it.It's not been opened and you're welcome to send someone to retrieve it because as you know I CAN'T WALK or drive. Thank you.Original review from a long while back:Much gratitude to Dr. Denton and his team for their efforts to remedy my lil cat Ezzie's "itchies." Though she's still having flare ups, I appreciate their kindness and am certain they'll pinpoint the allergen(s) when we return for blood work this week. 😻🐾🙏
May 17 · Planet SharkDr. Denton is amazing!! My senior dog Lily has congestive heart failure and a bad heart murmur. Her cough was horrible. Dr. Denton gave her a heart pill and a water pill and she is like a new dog! She runs and plays again at her age...and hardly coughs at all anymore! Thank you all so much for adding quality time to her life!!! I'm so grateful!
