★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We got Bones because my mom worked nights when I was in high school, so I would feel less alone and safer at night. I still remember the first car ride home, she sat in my lap while I took selfies with her. Bones was around for some of my toughest life experiences, and for some of the best. When I finished hair school, I moved out with my partner. I left Bones with my mom because by that point, she needed Bones more. Though, I have visited them nearly every weekend since then.A few years ago, we discovered that Bones likely had cancer. After a rough surgery and a lot of testing, we decided not to put her through any more stress, and that when there were more bad days than good, we would say good bye. She had not one but TWO more Christmases with us - in good spirits and fair health. How fortunate we are to have had that extra time.On Friday 8/8, the bad days outnumbered the good. On Tuesday 8/12, we said good bye.The staff at Central Kentucky Veterinary Center were kind, compassionate, and incredibly professional during our final moments with Bones. I dreaded the idea of taking her into a clinic, and wanted to do it at home. Nobody wants their dog to be frightened when it’s time to go. Unfortunately, home euthanasia is exploitatively expensive.I feel that the staff and Vet who helped us say good bye made this experience as calm and comfortable as possible for both us and Bones. She fell asleep quickly and peacefully. I apologize for not remembering the name of the vet and assistant who were with us - my headspace was cloudy, but please pass my gratitude along. It must be such a difficult job, but this vet was the right person to do it.I dont’t know if you all were aware, but a rainbow appeared over the clinic as we were leaving. It must have come down to take Bones home.
August 14 · Lexi KopcaCKVC honestly deserves so much more than 5 stars. We have been taking our 3 year old golden retriever here since she was a pup and just recently got another 2 month old golden. After about a week with us he got really sick and after a couple office visits it was determined he needed intestinal surgery. Despite how anxious we were, we never once worried about the care he was in. Dr. Rogers, Dr. Fuller and the rest of the staff were amazing and loved and cared for our pup like he was their own. They kept us up to date throughout the whole process and we even heard some of the staff cheering him on when it was time to come home. We are beyond grateful for the CKVC staff and what they did to get our Finn back home to us and I could not recommend anyone more!
September 25 · Kayla DoyleThe vets at this clinic saved my cat’s life. I had already had multiple visits with a different veterinarian and I was terrified and frustrated. They just couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Yet, day by day, my baby was just wasting away. He was barely drinking, barely eating, crying out in pain… There came a moment when I was certain that he was going to pass in my arms. I am so incredibly thankful that I found this clinic. They were able to see us right away. They did multiple tests that the previous vet had never even mentioned. They worked to rule out things so that we could zero in on the problem. Finally, they diagnosed him with early-onset arthritis, gave him a shot…and almost overnight…he was a different cat. There was a time when he was so immobile and lethargic that I would sit and cry thinking about how I would never see him play again. Now, he can take his 17lb brother down, no problem! It’s been three months now and, not only is he entirely back to his normal, playful self, he’s regained ALL of the weight and muscle mass that he had lost. Seeing him healthy and happy…still brings tears to my eyes. Yes, it was an expensive process…but I could not be happier with the results. It was worth every single penny. If I hadn’t given this clinic a shot, I honestly think there would be a box of ashes on my bookshelf…instead of the happy little cuddle cat that is lying next to me right now. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the vets who worked miracles for my sweet little man. I will never go to another clinic again.
July 12 · Maggie GrayWhen other vets turned me away with my cats emergency, this place got us in the same day. They were compassionate, empathetic and did all necessary testing, and the prices considering it was a emergency, was reasonable. I found out later, it was a life threatening ailment. Symba didn't exhibit signs of UTI, blockage or crystals until it was to late, but they tried to do everything short of surgery, which I couldn't afford. They put him on antibiotics & pain medication, but 4 days later, after seeing him not eating, drinking or using the litter box, I decided I couldn't watch him suffer anymore so I made the decision to euthanize him. I dont believe any animal or human should ever have to suffer. Thank you guys for everything. I will definitely be using you in the future.
October 08 · cynthia lanzaExcellent with our dogs and puppies. Have had 10+ years with their practice and could not be happier with their care for our dogs and their offspring. From puppy care, health testing, and reproduction, they do a wonderful job.
