Hartland Park Animal Hospital Introduce
For pet owners in Central Kentucky, finding a trusted veterinary partner is one of the most important decisions you will make for your companion animal's long-term health. Hartland Park Animal Hospital is a respected veterinary practice and animal hospital located in Lexington, KY, dedicated to providing a high standard of medical and surgical care for both dogs and cats.
Led by Dr. Lee Cundiff, D.V.M., who was born and raised in Jessamine County, this practice combines local roots with a commitment to advanced veterinary medicine. Dr. Cundiff is a highly educated and awarded veterinarian who earned his doctorate from Tuskegee University, and his practice is an active member of professional organizations such as the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association (KVMA) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). This ensures that the care your pet receives aligns with current best practices in the veterinary field.
Hartland Park Animal Hospital offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services, addressing everything from routine pet wellness exams and vaccinations to complex procedures like pet orthopedic surgery. The philosophy here is to practice preventative medicine, catching conditions early to ensure your pet lives a longer, healthier, and happier life right here in the Bluegrass. The dedicated team is known for its personal touch—as one long-time customer praised, they are "so good to our cats, and to us, always compassionate and understanding," knowing how much pets mean to their owners.
However, potential clients should note the importance of open communication and transparency in all medical treatment plans. While many customers, including one whose dog's life was saved seven years ago by Dr. Cundiff after misdiagnosis elsewhere, speak highly of the "very best care," another review points to a difficult experience with a chronic issue, where a skin problem was reportedly misdiagnosed, leading to extended discomfort and cost. This underscores the critical importance of seeking second opinions or specialist referrals for persistent or complicated conditions, a practice encouraged by responsible medical professionals. The team, including staff members like Allie at the front desk and Karen, a soothing and knowledgeable assistant, is recognized for its kindness and dedication to their patients.
The animal hospital is conveniently situated in the Hartland area of Lexington, making it accessible for residents throughout Fayette County and surrounding communities. The location is easy to find within the Hartland Parkway business district.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dr Cundiff saved our dog's life 7 years ago, after a different vet practice repeatedly couldn't figure out what was wrong. That's seven extra years we've had with our dog, and we still bring her to Hartland Park Animal Hospital, knowing that she will get the very best care here.
June 30 · Nate FellerSpent several thousand dollars trying to resolve my dogs skin issues. After trusting them for two months, going through shots, elimination diets and expensive prescription dog food, I gave up on them and went to another vet for a second opinion. She had an infection in her paw from the licking, it was caught on the first visit and she was back to new within the week.It was a costly repeated mistake, both in the money and in the pain and discomfort they extended for my dog. They were so confidently incorrect as to insinuate that I must be deviating from their elimination diet plan, they couldn't imagine why it wasn't working. After following up with a specialist later, it was confirmed that the issues were environmental allergies and not food related allergies, confirming my distrust for their judgement, at least in my particular case. That's not to say they weren't often kind and well meaning but missing such an obvious problem, one that was picked up immediately elsewhere, made me lose all trust and feel disappointed, my dog lived in a dog cone, miserable for two months needlessly.I've steered everyone I know a way from them, it only makes sense to do so here as well

July 14 · ashley brooksMy cat has had a rough few weeks with different health issues and I cannot thank Dr Cundiff enough! His compassion for my cat and his understanding of the underlying issues I cannot detect that concern me is amazing. Every suggestion he’s had has helped and brought both me and my cat comfort. Also shout out to Allie for answering my worried phone calls with a great deal of kindness and understanding. Another shout out to Karen for knowing just how to handle my cat, she’s been there every visit over the past few years that I can remember and my cat is instantly soothed, even when he doesn’t feel well, by her presence. Highly recommend this office, the staff really truly care!
