★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have known Mark for over 7 years and would not hesitate to recommend him for all veterinary services. He has a couple nah sayers on here if you will ,but I can honestly say he is in the best of the best . Has always been professional and answered any questions I have had informatively .
September 10 · Russ HughesIf I could give 0 stars I would. We had Mark out for a routine teeth float , the vet that we had used in the past Dr. Patchel was booked out quite a bit and we wanted to get my daughters horses teeth floated so she could ride. Our other horse that is in his late 20s has been losing weight rapidly, breathing heavily and choking a lot. He told me to put him down. There was nothing that could be done. He said he had no right lung left. He didn't offer to give any medication at all to help make him more comfortable. I went ahead and kept the later appointment that I had with Dr. Patchel @ rolling Hills to get a second opinion. Dr. Patchel and his team came out examined my horse and gave my horse a shot of dexamethasone. my horses breathing improved drastically within 48 hours and I was given a prescription to continue on this regimen for another month after it worked so well it's a low-cost medication. It only cost me $40 For a 20 day supply and we're gonna be able to taper off after that. Additionally I was overcharged for an exam. I was so upset at what he told me about my horse I just paid the bill. He quoted me $50 for the farm call originally and 125 to 150 per horse for the teeth floats. My bill ended up being $300. It was 150 for the one teeth float $50 for the farm call and $100 for the exam on my horse. Lesson learned , stick with the person you trust , wait for the appointment !
August 11 · rebecca mullinsI called Mark to come check out a horse I recently purchased that had some issues. Although he was helpful from a medical perspective, he essentially ridiculed me for purchasing this horse, making me feel even worse than I already did. I brought him out for medical help, not to make me feel like an absolute idiot. His attitude was so unprofessional and I will never recommend him to anyone, especially in their time of need. He even recognized at the end how absolutely rude he was and apologized, but the damage was done.Compassion is an essential part of medical care and he lacks it.
February 27 · Stephanie PadulaWe love Dr Mark. He is down to earth and extremely knowledgeable. He truly cares about our animals and us! He is always willing to give advice and happy to come out if we need him. My family members want to know if he’s coming out because it’s always such an informative and pleasant time. He is relaxed and great with all our animals.
May 14 · Meg FiteOnce upon a time, Mark Burroughs was regarded as a competent and compassionate veterinarian. However, in recent years, his decline has been disheartening. He has succumbed to a god complex, exploiting the vulnerability of individuals with limited knowledge about horses. Tragically, his actions have resulted in the unnecessary loss of numerous horses that could have been saved. It is worth noting, though, that he does offer valuable advice on horse care when he recognizes the owner's expertise. Regrettably, Mark's demeanor lacks any semblance of manners, and his speech is consistently inappropriate. Shockingly, he not only turns a blind eye to animal abuse but actively participates in it himself.
