★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had a bad experience with getting a cockatiel from this store. A couple weeks after we got the bird, she became sick with difficulty breathing and lethargy. She is the only bird at home and has clean cage and everything. We spent around $2000 for a bird we had less than 3 months for now, and vets couldnt figure out what is wrong with her until we saw worms in her feces. From vet’s words, it is very rare that indoor birds get infected with worms and she most likely got it from other birds in the store. I know it could be due to the suppliers who they get the animals from, but I wish they would quality check the conditions where they are getting avian animals from or their basic health. Very unpleasant and costly situation not to mention the suffering of the animal. She was treated against parasites and feels better now.

What’s optional?What do I need to take good care of this helpless little hamster? My brain was spinning. Libby to the rescue. You can tell she Love’s animals and she guided me patiently in what the hamster would need. She didn’t make me feel like a bother and patiently helped my granddaughters pick the best Hamster for me.The store is clean and well stocked.After I purchased my adorable Hamster (soon to be named Persimmon) Petco sent me a link in my e-mail giving me all the information needed on how to provide for Persimmon.I still called the Store to ask Libby one more question which she happily answered .We had gone to a couple of other stores before purchasing at Petco and did not get the one on one assistance I felt I needed. Thank you Petco.Thank you Libby.
May 13 · Minnie HoskinsThis place is horrible. I talked to the same fish guy here for years and since he left about a year or so ago its gotten really bad. The new people dont know squat about fish and the frozen food freezer has been broken for months.Also good luck checking out. I frequently have to wait and wait for someone to show up. Its as if 3 employees are on shift at any given time. One time a girl who looked about 20yo or younger finally walked away from talking with coworkers to ring me up. Takes her time, the coworkers walk up to the register and halfway checking me out she turns to them and says "you really have to try this coffee, you should try it". One of them, who i swear was a manager told her to finish ringing me up first. I said some smart remark about her putting the customer first or something and got a nasty response from the manager.I dont need you children! Even the older managers who are children! I go to Petsmart or UB's, its that easy.
August 13 · AndrewI had Charlies first hair cut done here he is a Shih Tzu mixed with poodle, it was very good cut , about four months ago I decided to take him somewhere closer. I picked Charlie up he had been shaved to the pink meat, I was devastated and Charlie was traumatized for weeks, cold trembling, crying, would not eat he was a mess and it broke my heart so of course I was crying and promised him I would never let someone do that to him again. On December 28th 2024 I took Charlie to Petco 7565 US 31 S hoping for a better experience. I told the young lady I went on a two week vacation and when I got Charlie back he had some matted spots, but the young lady rubbed through his hair and stated oh no he is NOT BAD AT ALL !!! I explained what happened to him and I did want him cut that way again and the fact he is not a poodle. When I picked Charlie up he was shaved worse than before he actually looked butchered, his fur on his tail was cut like a poodle. I was very calm paid the bill went to my car and broke down. Charlie has been crying has not eaten and only wants to lay in my lap, it is winter why would someone think it is okay to do that after saying he was not bad WHY! Charlie just has poodle in him he is not a poodle and I did not want him cut as such. I know I am one of many customers they have and it probably will not matter when I say never will Charlie go back for a cut, I have lost all trust in this Petco, and the neve to call me leaving a message about how close was i for picking him up because he had pooped twice in the kennel, he was scared and traumatized yet again. First picture is what he looked like maybe a little more hair, first cut a few months back is the shaving and poodle cut I didn't want is the second picture, and the third one is from December 28th 2024 which is far more worse than the 1st cut.

Can't be understated that I've had nothing but great customer service here, above and beyond others.Only bad side is there are only like two people working in the store at all times which is no fault of the employees.
