Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center Introduce
For pet owners across the Greater Phoenix area and the West Valley, knowing where to turn during a veterinary crisis is essential. The Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center (AVECCC) in Peoria, AZ, is a dedicated facility whose sole mission is to provide immediate, life-saving Emergency Care and advanced critical support for dogs and cats. Unlike a primary care veterinarian that handles routine check-ups and preventative medicine, AVECCC is an emergency hospital that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, specializing in the most severe, critical, and time-sensitive conditions.
The hospital is staffed by highly trained emergency veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support personnel. The team often includes board-certified Emergency and Critical Care Specialists, which is a crucial differentiator when dealing with complex, life-threatening trauma, or medical emergencies. This elite level of staffing ensures that pets suffering from conditions like severe trauma, respiratory distress, acute organ failure, protracted seizures, or critical post-operative complications have access to the highest level of veterinary expertise available in Arizona.
In situations where every second truly counts, the center’s capability for 24/7 patient monitoring, blood transfusions, advanced imaging, and complex surgical procedures—including emergent laceration repair—is what makes it a life-saver for Arizona's pets. As one deeply grateful customer shared, the staff was "thorough and caring" and "literally saved my dog’s life" when the animal was brought in post-surgery in critical condition, highlighting the facility's core competency.
It is important for prospective clients to understand the realities of emergency medicine at this level. Because the center prioritizes the most critically ill and injured patients first, the waiting time for non-life-threatening or stable cases can be significant. Customer reviews, while appreciative of the life-saving results, frequently mention a "ridiculously long" waiting room time, sometimes stretching to 8–12 hours for less immediate care, such as a deep laceration repair. Furthermore, the specialized nature of the care, the advanced equipment, and the constant staffing contribute to costs that are often "astronomical" for pet owners, with complex care easily reaching several thousand dollars per day, leading some users to express concern about affordability. Therefore, this center should be utilized for true emergencies where this high level of expertise and immediate stabilization is non-negotiable for the pet's survival.
AVECCC understands the financial strain of unexpected emergencies and is committed to transparency. They provide a written treatment plan with a cost estimate before major treatment and offer multiple payment methods, including financing options, to help pet parents manage these significant expenses.
The Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center (AVECCC) is located in the West Valley city of Peoria, making it a critical hub for emergency services for pet owners across the Northwest Phoenix metro area. Its 24/7 operation ensures that emergency access is always available, regardless of the time of day or night.
The hospital is easily found at the following address:
7823 W Golden Ln, Peoria, AZ 85345, USA

- Dedicated Wheelchair accessible parking lot spaces are provided near the entrance.

- The facility includes a Wheelchair accessible restroom.
- While the waiting area is described as comfortable, be prepared for potentially long waits due to the critical nature of the center's work.

- Specialized Emergency Treatment: Management of complex conditions such as toxicity exposure, intractable seizures, acute organ failure, and complications from ongoing chronic diseases.
- Urgent Care (By Triage): Evaluation and treatment of non-life-threatening, but urgent, conditions when primary veterinary offices are closed, with the understanding that critical cases take precedence.
- Post-Operative and Recovery Support: Monitoring and care for pets recovering from complex or emergency surgeries.

- Triage-Based Prioritization: Critically ill or injured patients are seen immediately, following a strict triage system, ensuring that life-threatening conditions receive rapid attention.
- Flexible Payment Options: Accepts major Credit cards, Debit cards, and NFC mobile payments, and offers third-party financing solutions like CareCredit and Scratchpay to assist pet owners with the high costs of Emergency Care.
- Compassionate Communication: Despite the high-pressure environment, the staff is consistently praised for being "thorough and caring," providing great communication and ensuring owners understand their pet's options.
In a pet emergency, it is advisable to call ahead to let the team know you are on the way, even though appointments are not required for true emergencies.

For pet owners in Arizona's West Valley, the Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center is the definitive choice when your pet’s life is in immediate danger or when specialized critical care is required. The single most compelling reason to choose this facility is the guaranteed 24/7 availability of top-tier Emergency Care supported by board-certified specialists and advanced medical equipment. In cases of severe trauma, sudden collapse, or post-operative complications, this expertise is not just valuable—it is often the difference between life and death. The center's focus is on stabilization and life support for the sickest patients, providing a level of intensive care that most general practice veterinarians cannot offer.
However, choosing AVECCC means accepting the reality of emergency room dynamics. The wait times can be extensive for less critical patients because staff must prioritize the most urgent cases, such as those with critical respiratory or cardiac issues. Additionally, clients must prepare for substantial costs. Emergency, critical, and specialized care is inherently expensive due to the staffing, technology, and round-the-clock resources required—with bills easily reaching thousands of dollars. Despite the high fees and lengthy waits, which have prompted some negative feedback, the center is validated by clients who report that the staff are "thorough and caring" and have "literally saved my dog’s life."
Ultimately, if your pet is experiencing a genuine medical emergency where time and specialized expertise are the most critical factors, AVECCC in Peoria stands ready with the skills and resources to provide that life-saving intervention. They also offer crucial financial assistance through accepted major credit cards and financing options like CareCredit, recognizing the unexpected burden of critical care costs on pet-loving Arizona families.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Waiting room was ridiculously long. I understand that critical care patients come first but 8-12 hours+ is too much. Hire more help.2nd is cost. Do you people really have to charge an astronomical amount of money?? You charged $5,000 per day for our diabetic dog and $1300 to stitch my dogs laceration that we had to wait 12 hours to do.I honestly think it’s so ridiculous that you all are making a killing off of us. We love our pets but your costs probably cause many people to euthanize their pets due to the fact most cannot afford your fees. I am positive you could be a little more affordable.Waiting area is comfortable but the rooms are cold and uncomfortable. You would think some of the money you make could be used towards making rooms more comfortable for humans and their pets. Our diabetic dog was critical but somehow was pushed aside for hours. My other dog had a deep laceration that took 12 hour to stitch. It’s unbelievable and disgraceful. You all need to charge a little less so we can afford to keep our pets healthy.
July 07 · Brenda McCurryI brought my dog in there last weekend, he was in critical condition post surgery. They were thorough and caring, and took every step necessary to ensure he would be OK. The communication was great, and they literally saved my dog’s life. I am so grateful and appreciative of this wonderful hospital and it’s staff.
August 09 · Dawn St. AmantThe staff and the doctors were amazing with our cat. He had surgery at our family vet earlier in the day and never woke up from the anesthesia. So we took him to AECCC Peoria and they acted quickly and were able to revive our cat with no lasting effects. They were all so kind and empathetic to the situation and genuinely seemed to care about our pet.
October 13 · Leslie RussellMy GSD, Sebastian, was ruined by our local vet from wearing a muzzle. He was such a sweet, loving young pup, but was surprised & without me being asked or knowing, put in one for shots & an exam. Now, he's 4 years old, 100lbs and HATES the vet. I found a tick on him and knew I had to take him to AVECCC. I love them! Our former GSD passed away there & they were SO caring and compassionate, and our 17 year old kitty had to stay multiple days when he was very dehydrated. They're AMAZING!! Sebastian is just like me, resistant to medication. Even after a large first dose, we couldn't put a muzzle or cone on him for safety while the tick would be removed from his side. After a second dosage with additional meds, it worked! I can't thank the doctor, nurse, front desk, EVERYONE enough!!! They were all SO understanding and didn't get frustrated or send us away after a difficult situation (like our vet had in the past). I absolutely LOVE their care and compassion!! If you need emergency care, PLEASE, AVECCC is the place to trust and rely upon! I wouldn't go anywhere else for emergency pet care. I've told them I wish I could bring my pets for routine care, as well. They're THAT incredible!!! Another GIGANTIC THANK YOU to everyone involved!!! We can't say thank you enough! And please know, Sebastian is an absolute sweetheart if you're playing ball with him in his yard (once you've been invited in). We seriously would love you all to come for a pool party/BBQ!! Sending so much gratitude & love!Kristy, Sebastian & family ❤️🐾❤️🐾PS-Pics are Sebastian at AVECCC, falling asleep and at home, with a favorite ball!
May 31 · Kristy ShadaI brought our 4 yr old Golden Retriever in after I messed up in trimming her nails. I could not get the bleeding got stop on one nail. ALL of the staff were compassionate knowledgeable and caring from the moment I went in. Annie was seen before I had a chance to complete the paperwork, the triage was magnificent. The problem was quickly addressed with a topical remedy and we were on our way. My wife and I are so very thankful for your skill and being available. Your facility is the best!
