Cherokee Animal Clinic Introduce
For pet owners in the Louisville area, particularly in the Highlands and surrounding neighborhoods of Kentucky, finding a reliable, full-service Animal hospital is essential for maintaining their pet's health. Cherokee Animal Clinic, located conveniently on Eastern Parkway, is an established Veterinarian practice known for offering a wide array of services designed to cover virtually every aspect of a pet’s life, from puppyhood through to Geriatric Care.
Operating as a full-service Medical Center, Cherokee Animal Clinic provides comprehensive care for dogs and cats, encompassing everything from routine Physical Exams and Puppy And Kitten Exams to complex Surgical Procedures and specialized Pet Dental Care. Their model emphasizes Preventative Health Care, ensuring pets remain healthy and happy long-term. Beyond medical services, the clinic also caters to the practical needs of pet owners by offering Full Service Grooming and access to Pet Boarding facilities, making it a convenient, one-stop location for pet maintenance.
It is important for prospective clients to note that while the clinic has a long-standing history and offers a wide range of services, client experiences regarding communication and appointment management can be inconsistent. Some feedback from new or prospective clients has highlighted issues with receptionist patience, particularly for those with complex inquiries or specific language needs. Additionally, due to the structure of the facility—which may only have one exam room and vet on duty—wait times can sometimes be extended, even with an appointment, as the clinic prioritizes necessary diagnostic procedures like X-rays for existing patients. Clients should be prepared to allocate extra time for their visit and ensure clear communication with staff upon booking.
Despite these reported communication and scheduling challenges, the clinic remains a pillar in the local pet community, offering essential services like Spay And Neuter and proactive care like Heartworm Prevention. For local users, Cherokee Animal Clinic provides a foundational level of veterinary medical care, particularly for routine and outpatient needs.
Cherokee Animal Clinic is centrally located in a vibrant and established part of Louisville, making it accessible to many Kentucky residents. The clinic is part of the Audubon Animal Medical Center group, an entity with a long history in the community.

- Wheelchair accessible entrance is provided for easy entry.

For pet owners seeking a truly Full Service, established Animal hospital in the Louisville area that can handle both routine care and complex surgical needs for their cat or dog, Cherokee Animal Clinic is worth consideration. The primary benefit lies in the sheer breadth of its offerings. The clinic serves as a comprehensive hub, providing not only essential medical services like Spay And Neuter, Pet Dental Care, and Lab Work, but also the practical support services of Grooming & Boarding.
However, what is worth choosing must be viewed in balance with operational realities. The facility's focus on the local community, backed by a history of service, suggests a stable, experienced Veterinary Medical team. They offer critical Preventative Health Care and are equipped for Emergency Visits. For pet owners who value having a single, established location for comprehensive medical care, grooming, and boarding (access to the kennel facilities), the clinic offers unmatched convenience.
Prospective clients, especially new ones, should be prepared for what may be an older facility ("outdated" as one review noted) and potential delays due to the clinic structure. Critically, to ensure a positive experience, clear and patient communication from the client is advised to navigate initial inquiries and appointments, particularly regarding prescription refills or new patient intake. If one is prepared for the logistical limitations of a busy single-exam room practice and prioritizes a wide range of available services in a central location, Cherokee Animal Clinic remains a viable and established choice for maintaining Pet Healthy in the Kentucky region.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’m not very good with English vocabulary, and they didn’t even have the patience to let me finish speaking.I simply called to ask if they could help me get a prescription for Heartgard and Nexgard for my dog. The person who answered the phone had absolutely no patience. She asked me if my dog had any significant illnesses. I said no, I just wanted a prescription for preventive medication. She impatiently interrupted me and asked if my dog had ever had a diagnosis at their hospital. I said no, but asked if I could start a new one. She then asked if I had a regular veterinarian. I didn’t understand what “regular veterinarian” meant, so I said I had previously gotten the same prescription from another clinic. Then she very impatiently threw out, “Then go to your previous hospital,” as if I owed her a huge debt (just a figure of speech to describe how I felt — not literally).Such an impatient receptionist, unwilling to communicate with clients, makes me seriously doubt whether this hospital truly treats its customers with a professional attitude. I would never choose this hospital. All I felt was an angry sense of discrimination.
August 09 · Junpeng ChenI can't speak to the care as my pet was never seen. I ended up leaving because I'd been sitting in the waiting room for 30 minutes past my appointment time and was told they didn't know how long it would take to be seen because they were doing an X-ray on the patient before me. They also had a lot of details wrong from my initial call. The office is outdated and situated on an awkward, busy corner that makes it difficult to get to. Apparently they only have one exam room and vet, so only one patient can be seen at a time.
December 04 · Jennifer KieferDr. Grace is one of the kindest humans I’ve ever met. I don’t trust anyone more than I do him when it comes to the wellbeing of my animals. Excellent bedside manner, and exceptional animal care. I am happy to pay their prices for the level of care my animals receive.
July 19 · Lindsey KaelinI have only been here to have a dog that I found scanned for a chip, they were very helpful. I was able to get the info I needed to get that loving little puppy back home
April 07 · Chris PaulleyComing from Colorado, the state with the top veterinary school in this country, and the most phenomenal veterinarians, Cherokee Animal Clinic in comparison, was incredibly lackluster, most specifically in communication; and the amount of time spent with our puppy for her appointment. There was a very sick dog, who was seen on an emergency, and we lovingly understand that that dog absolutely needed to go first. However, my spouse sat there for nearly an hour without any notice from the receptionist, about what was going on, and when they were finally seen, the vet only spent 5 minutes with our puppy.Incredibly mismanaged office, unacceptable.
