Family VetCare of Phoenix Introduce
Welcome to Family VetCare of Phoenix, an established and highly-regarded veterinary facility serving the greater Arizona community from its convenient location on Chandler Boulevard. The name truly reflects the mission: to treat every client and patient with the care, compassion, and respect of family. This facility is more than just a Veterinary Practice; it is a full-service complex that operates as an Animal hospital, Dog day care center, and a dedicated Kennel, ensuring that all aspects of your pet’s health, from complex surgery to daily well-being, are managed under one trusted roof.
Family VetCare of Phoenix is dedicated to delivering thoughtful, comprehensive Preventive Medicine and advanced surgical solutions. They are equipped to handle a wide range of medical needs, from routine Check Up appointments and Pet's Vaccinations to providing highly specialized Orthopedic Procedures, including advanced surgical techniques like Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) and Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA). Their commitment to the well-being of the pets they treat is reflected in the compassionate manner they handle all circumstances, from routine check-ups to deeply emotional moments.
A critical area where the hospital consistently receives praise is in its handling of challenging and sensitive situations, particularly end-of-life care. A heartfelt customer review highlighted the staff's genuine kindness and sweetness when assisting with the passing of a nearly 20-year-old cat. The staff’s decision to grant the family "all the time we wanted to say goodbye" and later sending a sympathy card showcases a level of empathy that truly sets them apart. This demonstration of compassion and dignity is central to their philosophy.
However, as with any comprehensive medical provider, clear communication about costs is paramount for a positive client experience. A review noted a case where a $500 bill for a routine, normal wellness check—with no findings of illness—was a shock because the charges for certain tests were not fully disclosed or discussed for medical necessity beforehand. This feedback serves as a reminder to all Arizona pet owners to engage in proactive discussions with the veterinary team during the appointment, asking for itemized estimates and clarification on all recommended lab work (such as Blood Screening or Parasite Testing) before agreeing to the full Treatment Plan. While the quality of care is acknowledged as "good," transparency in billing ensures trust is maintained throughout the entire patient journey.
The hospital’s diverse service offerings, particularly the inclusion of non-medical services like Dog daycare and multi-pet Other pet boarding, provide convenience for busy Arizona families. Whether you are traveling and need secure Dog boarding or just need daytime care, this integrated approach streamlines the pet ownership experience.
Family VetCare of Phoenix is strategically located to serve the South Phoenix, Ahwatukee, and surrounding East Valley communities. The facility’s address is easily accessible and offers operational hours six days a week, plus limited hours on Sundays to provide flexibility for local residents.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great (but still sad haha) experience here. The vet and staff here treated my cat with sooo much kindness as he was getting old. A few months ago, we made the decision to put our cat down because he was almost 20 years old, becoming very frail, and had multiple health issues. The vet was so compassionate and sweet towards my cat. The staff seemed to truly care about him and my family. They gave us all the time we wanted to say goodbye. They were very respectful and treated my cat so much dignity. I highly recommend this clinic. Very kind and knowledgeable staff. I am very happy with how this clinic operates. ❤️ They also sent us a sympathy card in the mail!! So unbelievably kind of them!! It is hard to say goodbye to a pet, but its is a kindness to not allow them to suffer.
July 23 · BridgetThe care from FVC is good and we appreciate the follow-up.However, when we brought our cat in for a wellness check, with no medical or behavior issues, we we shocked to receive a $500 bill for a completely normal visit. No findings of illness or concerns by the Dr. we're brought up.Charges like that should be disclosed and discussed to determine medical necessity before moving forward and we are disappointed that that was not the case.
August 10 · Ed CarrHorrendous experience! My older cat was having some issues walking. We went in and almost $1000 for Xray and bloodwork. Then over the next week or 2 he quickly got much worse due to apparent bone cancer and muscle loss in the back legs. He seemed to be paralyzed. Having bathroom problems and dragging his back legs. Over $300 more to put him to sleep. Unfortunately, they did an extremely bad job. When my other cat had to be put to sleep, they did a much better job at a place in Florida. But this place decided to make my cat suffer putting in catheters for some unknown reason without any pain killers! He was crying so horribly. Then I had to say goodbye when he was in a disturbing condition. He was shaking with his tongue sticking out. He did not seem to be aware of anything or recognize me. Now I'm traumatized having to live with this awful memory forever. I would highly recommend not going here! The place in Florida just did a simple injection to make my other cat relax. Then a second injection to stop his heart. No idea why this place couldn't do it that way to avoid the trauma and pain.Update: If your standard operating procedure is to jam two catheters in a cat's arms with zero pain killer that's absurd. How could that not be painful? Like I said, why not just use a regular injection for the pain killer? Makes much more sense. Then a second regular injection to make his heart stop. I don't know if you are overcomplicating things to get more money or what.
March 13 · JI absolutely love bringing our pet here! We had our dog boarded whenever we left the country for a week and she had a great time! We also got progress reports on her and we're aware of how she was doing as well with her stay. Great and friendly staff, clean environment, and not costing an arm and is a MASSIVE plus in this economy! If you're looking for a reliable vet, this is the place for you! They love our 10 year old as much as we do here.
June 18 · LouLou “TTVmustang_unicorn”We love Dr. Mott! We have been going here since relocating from Flagstaff in 2015. We will never go anywhere else. Dr. Mott and the techs have always been so careful and kind to our girls. Our youngest is always fearful no matter what but they treat her so nice and calm that I have no worries when they take her back. I know businesses get busy so if you are there during a busy time there can be a wait even with appointments. I have been left in a room for an hour or so a few times over the years, most recently during a pick up I came early but waited almost an hour in the room because of a miscommunication. But she was promptly brought out once it was found out I was still waiting.
