★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have used Dr. Huesing for approximately 40 years. He has wonderfully treated all of my dogs and sorrowfully euthanized them when the time came. Then for a fee takes them to his farm to be buried. This past 6 months I took my dog to a different vet because he grew up next door to me and I wanted to help him with his business. Then my dog was diagnosed with lymphoma. I decided to take her back to Dr Huesing for euthanasia when the time came because I wanted her to be buried with our other dogs and also because he had been her vet all her life until recently. As I’m already crying, he said well, what’s wrong with her, she looks fine to me. Then he questioned me about how I knew she had lymphoma. I told him she was diagnosed by another vet. Then, he seemed resentful. He said, so you bring her back here to me to have me do the hardest thing we have to do? I felt that was really inappropriate at that moment and it hurt my feelings at the worst time possible. I tried to explain why I took her to the other vet, to try to help him with his new business, but I don’t think he even wanted to hear it.I probably should have walked out with my dog at that moment, but was already resolved to say goodbye to her, so I stayed and had him put her down. I really felt hurt for him to treat me like that after all those years. He walked out of the room after she passed and sent his assistant in to collect the fee. That was that. Never said a kind word except that he knew it was hard.I left feeling worse than I should have because he did not act like the kind doctor I had known him to be in the past. Maybe it’s time for him to retire if he doesn’t want to do the hard part anymore. Did he not understand how much harder it was for me? I had to make the decision to help her leave this world while she was suffering and be there with her as she left.I’m sorry Dr. Huesing, but today you failed at being the kind hearted person I thought you were.
May 03 · Yvette RyanDr Huesing has exceptional knowledge and skills as a veterinarian and has a great staff to back him up. Have been going to his clinic through several pets for the last forty plus years and will continue to do so…
August 06 · Bob McKinneyDr. Huesing is the real deal! He genuinely cares about animals and is so knowledgeable. He doesn’t waste your time with unnecessary procedures or trying to sell you something. Everyone working there is so kind and helpful. You can tell that the folks working there are animal lovers. Thanks to everyone there for taking good care of my fur babies.
December 16 · Cathy jasperFor years, both my mother and I have trusted Dr. Huesing with our pets. Just last week, we brought our ailing dog, Yogi, to his office three times.Dr. Huesing diagnosed Yogi's vomiting as gastroenteritis. Despite Yogi not eating or producing stool, Dr. Huesing dismissed the possibility of a blockage, simply because Yogi was drinking water. It took a full week and three visits before he finally conducted bloodwork and X-rays.Unfortunately, I couldn't be present for these visits due to a pinched nerve, or I would have insisted on considering the possibility of a blockage. Ultimately, after our third trip, Dr. Huesing referred us to MedVet.Upon arrival, Yogi's condition was dire, with elevated heart rate and blood pressure, along with labored breathing. Immediate X-rays at MedVet revealed the blockage. Those three visits to Dr. Huesing resulted in a loss of crucial time. By the time we learned of the blockage, sepsis had taken hold.To save Yogi, MedVet quoted an upfront cost of 11-13k, which we willingly paid. Despite the surgeons successfully removing the blockage, Yogi's odds were bleak. Tragically, on September 14th at 5:15am, our beloved 7-year-old Yogi passed away. Our trust in Dr. Huesing proved costly. The critical time lost adhering to his guidance was devastating. It's unbearable to think that our loss was due to those three unproductive visits and a week's time with Dr. Huesing. If one can't differentiate between gastroenteritis and a blockage, they shouldn't be in the profession. How could he not run blood tests or X-rays on our first two visits, despite our growing concerns? On those visits, all he did was take Yogi's temperature and administer an IV, assuring us he appeared healthy. By the third visit, Yogi was already in the throes of sepsis. We depended on his expertise, and our trust was misplaced. If only he had been more diligent, or if he was unsure, referred us to someone more knowledgeable. Our grief is immense. Tears have been our constant companions. Yogi, a medium-sized dog, could have had a decade or more of a fulfilling life. My regret at not being present for those critical appointments is immeasurable.
October 05 · Chris Campbell memberThis veterinary clinic provides exceptional services. I felt very at home, did not have a long wait, and my cat felt at ease very easily at this clinic. They took very good care of Marlow. When my cat needed ear mite medicine very early on they quickly provided her with medicine. When my cat was fixed and I noticed that she was scratching at her scar they provided me with a cone at very short notice. Marlow is growing into a wonderful kitty and I cannot thank these guys enough for providing great services at an affordable price!
