VCA Elliot Park Animal Hospital Introduce
For pet owners across the greater Phoenix Valley, including Tempe, Chandler, and Mesa, finding a veterinary partner that offers both routine wellness and specialized care is crucial. VCA Elliot Park Animal Hospital, established in 1985 in Tempe, Arizona, positions itself as a long-standing, comprehensive provider of Veterinary Medical Services. This facility is built on a foundation of providing personalized, family-oriented medical, surgical, diagnostic, and dental care, embracing a philosophy of delivering world-class medicine with hometown care.
The hospital is part of the larger VCA network, which allows its local doctors to tap into a vast network of expertise and cutting-edge resources, ensuring that pets receive the most current standards of care for everything from routine Physical Exams to complex Orthopedic Surgery. Beyond general medicine, VCA Elliot Park Animal Hospital integrates various health support services, including laser therapy, nutritional guidance, and V.O.M. (Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation), reflecting a commitment to the well-being of the whole pet. They are equipped to care for all dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, ferrets, guinea pigs, and other pocket pets.
An outstanding feature of the hospital is its dedicated effort to minimize stress for feline patients, having earned a gold certified Cat Friendly Practice accreditation since 2012 by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). This distinction means the facility has separate dog and cat/exotic areas and staff devoted to creating a positive experience for your kitty. This attention to detail reflects their compassionate care approach for all species.
The practice has been an AAHA-accredited hospital (American Animal Hospital Association) since 1998, an honor voluntarily maintained by only 12–15% of veterinary hospitals in the industry. This accreditation is a testament to their commitment to excellence, as they are routinely evaluated on over 900 standards covering all aspects of patient care and facility operation. Whether a pet needs Primary Care, Pet Cancercare, or specialized Bone & Joint Support, pet owners can expect a high standard of quality.
It is important for prospective clients to note that, as part of a large corporate network, some clients have expressed concerns regarding business operations and pricing structures, particularly the mandatory nature and cost of the required Wellness Exam associated with vaccine appointments. However, the dedication of the individual veterinarians and the breadth of specialized services are consistently recognized as strong attributes, highlighting the importance of clear communication with the front office regarding all anticipated fees before service.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Scheduled an appointment for 2 vaccines, was not advised that I'd have to also pay $129 for a wellness check up. That didn't even include weight or any diagnostics at all. Because my dog is fine. Wellness exam took less than 4 minutes. Such a rip off. Vaccines were twice as expensive as my usual vet, and vaccine exam was almost 3 times the cost of my usual vet. Only came here because I was established since humane society adoption, never ever coming back nor recommending.
July 14 · Kaylee E.We visited Dr. Lotion here around 2018 and the recent reviews of this clinic match the reasoning of why we left 5 years ago with our 4 dogs. Unprofessional front staff and condescending business operations from an umbrella company that gives the doctors no control. Dr. Lotion was great but not worth the headache. Wish he would go independent
July 14 · Samuel ThorntonI had an emergency yesterday with my pet dog and I proceeded to rush over there to get him looked at prior to their POSTED closing time of 6pm.I get there around 5:33pm and the door is locked, all lights are off. No note on the door saying that they closed early or anything like that. (Thank God they posted the after hours phone number of the 24/7 15mins away)I proceeded to call them today and my 1st question was what time they closed... once again I'm told 6pm...Asked to speak with someone in charge and the receptionist connected me with that site Administrator, name I'm told is Johnathan Estrada.Johnathan was, in my opinion, VERY RUDE and VERY CONDESCENDING. Spoke to me as if my concerns did not matter. Tried srugging off the fact that they closed early, which I found out out from him; they closed at 5pm (AN HOUR EARLIER than posted) because corporate is attempting to cut down on labor hours... he then asks if I called 1st prior to arrival... I don't know if anyone's 1st thought when their pet (mind you this is my 1st emergency with my dog) is to call to make sure a hospital that says it's open until 6pm on MULTIPLE platforms call to make sure they are open at 5:30pmI then try and ask Johnathan what the corporate number is so I can try and talk to them to resolve this issue and he said in a very patronizing way 1-800-VCA... Tht isn't even a full phone number!?!Found the corporate number online, called and left a message, hopefully my concerns are heard by someone who cares.
May 13 · Steven SkinnerI have been a client for about 6 months now for my 2 little rescue dogs. I always feel like this location is SUPER responsive and helpful, very easy to schedule with. Prices are reasonable and my dogs receive great care. I'm often able to get same day medication refills and the appointment/vaccination reminders help me stay on top of things. Overall I'm very happy with their services.
May 17 · Andrew AlbertsI have been taking my dog here for years and they are always very kind and patient with her and very professional. She is a very anxious rescue dog and they have been amazing. I highly recommend the clinic but also the groomer. They are the only ones who have been able to successfully clip her toenails. I have tried taking her to both petsmart and petco (as I don't live super close to this clinic location) and neither one has been able to complete this task. Great place.
