Veterinarians to the Rescue Introduce
For pet owners across the Kentucky area, particularly those in Jessamine County and beyond, Veterinarians to the Rescue (VTTR) in Nicholasville offers a truly unique and life-saving resource. This establishment is not just a standard veterinary clinic; it operates as a dedicated 501c3 non-profit organization founded with the critical mission of reducing the devastating impact of "economic euthanasia." By making essential and often urgent veterinary care accessible and affordable, VTTR ensures that cost is not the barrier between a beloved pet and the treatment it desperately needs.
The clinic’s mission is driven by its founder, Dr. Lisa Warren, a veterinarian with over two decades of experience who witnessed firsthand the heartbreaking consequences of financial constraints on pet health. Having previously owned a practice for nearly 20 years, Dr. Warren brings a wealth of surgical and medical expertise to the community. Her commitment, shared by the entire team, is consistently praised in the most critical of circumstances. One customer’s testimonial highlights this dedication, recounting an emergency surgery: “The owner/Vet is a literal life saver, she saved our baby's life by doing an emergency surgery due to Pyometra... she was quick, efficient and her love of animals is so apparent.” The willingness to perform complex, urgent procedures at a fraction of the typical cost is a profound testament to their guiding principle.
Veterinarians to the Rescue provides a wide range of services, focusing heavily on necessary procedures and preventive care, all offered at notably reduced rates compared to traditional or emergency hospitals. This affordability is a deliberate strategy, designed to keep pets healthy, prevent suffering, and support responsible pet ownership within the Kentucky community. Their work extends beyond the clinic walls, partnering with other 501c3 groups and shelters to further their mission of Animal Rescue, specifically Cat rescue and Dog rescue, by providing medical and surgical services at reduced or no cost to those organizations.
The dedication to making high-quality care affordable is a massive benefit for Central Kentucky families. A customer who was referred to the Nicholasville clinic from a facility in Middletown shared their life-changing experience: "This place is a blessing! Very knowledgeable and affordable! I thought I was going to have to put my cat down when the urgent care and hospital were going to charge me thousands of dollars... My baby boy is back home and feeling much better." This kind of outcome demonstrates that Veterinarians to the Rescue is an essential community partner, delivering expert medical intervention without the crippling financial burden.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The owner/Vet is a literal life saver, she saved our baby's life by doing an emergency surgery due to Pyometra(please please please get your animals spayed this comes on quick and kills fast) she did a 4000 surgery 250 plus a 200 after hours fee for the tech, she was quick efficient and her love of animals is so apparent. I don't want to think how things would have went if she wasn't there. She does ask you pay up front but with her doing things so cheap this is understandable. I would recommend her all day everyday.
April 12 · Kayla WilliamsThis place is a blessing! Very knowledgeable and affordable! I thought I was going to have to put my cat down when the urgent care and hospital were going to charge me thousands of dollars to treat my cat for a urinary blockage. VSP in Middletown gave me Veterinary To The Rescue number, it was a bit of a drive but definitely worth it! My baby boy is back home and feeling much better.
