★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Wow! Awesome work, to all the doctors, nurses, and techs that worked on Tucson, THANK YOU!!! Diagnosis was spot on and the treatment plan worked out well. Tucson is recovering well and is adapting to his new lifestyle. I appreciate the flexibility of providing a free consultation over the phone. Thank you all for showing Tucson so much support during his visit.
September 01 · Mario BarriosI’ve debated writing a review for a while. But my horse has never been the same. Diagnosed with colic, I was told if we didn’t do surgery he would die. We did the surgery. It was a hind gut ulcer, so they cut him open for nothing. He has never been the same. It cost 18k for them to cut him open and point at something. I didn’t even get a SORRY. They point blank told me he would die if we didn’t. No discount, no sorry. Still think about it all the time three years later. He recovered but has never been the same horse. I’ve trained and sold many horses, this one is one I’ll never get rid of because I love him too much. Just sucks I never got a sorry or discount for ruining his life. I’ll never forgot the doctor who was so casual about giving a misdiagnosis.Edit: I say ruin him because he now has some back problems which stem from not having as string as a core as he used to. Because obviously he had his whole stomach stitched together.
December 28 · Madison Frankie MichaelI want to say thank you to Dr. Kelsey. She came out today on a Sunday to do an emergent visit on my colicking horse. I have dealt with this before so I was expecting it to be a day of hard work and some medicine but his belly kept growing and growing and he looked so awful I've never had a horse colic this bad in my life. Dr. Kelsey came out was so kind compassionate and very thorough and to the point about what our options were, prices and profesional opinions about the situation. We unexpectedly had to put him down or else he would've likely passed in misery and pain any ways. It was so hard for me and my family but Dr. Kelsey gave me all the time I needed and didn't make me feel rushed or like I was just another number on her to do list. This is my childhood horse, and im so so appreciative and grateful she is so good at what she does and I will always remember this moment with peace, love and kindness ❤️
July 27 · Taylor KingMy mare had arthritis in her right front pastern joint. She would get short term relief with steroid injection followed by gel injections. She was partially bone on bone in the joint. I interviewed several surgeons before selecting Dr Howard at Az equine!!I could not be happier with my choice!! My mate had surgery today for arthrodesis of the pastern joint. His entire staff makes you feel welcome and explain procedures prior to and after the surgery. Dr Howard spent time answering my email questions as wellAs meeting with me at my request prior to the surgery. Today was a big day but they were very professional and my mare did great!!I myself work in surgery so I was able to watch through a large window they treated my mare with kid gloves!!!They have great sterile technique and Dr Howard came out when she was in recovery room to tell me he was pleased with how it went. She is in a fiberglass cast and he showed me the X-rays of the screw placement!!!I had been told to euthanize her but she has no other issues so I eould not even consider that!I can’t say enough great things about this place and my experience with DLL of the staff!!It’s clean and they take great care of your horse!!Highly recommend Dr Howard and AZ Equine!A very very happy horse ownerAnn
November 14 · Ann GOur Gelding Taitos was near dead when I found him Sunday morning, July 21, 2024 laying in his stall. After our local large animal vet was unable to help due to a blockage...we drove him from Tucson to AZ Equine in Gilbert. Dr. Howard is amazing, he saved our boys live with immediate surgery on Sunday afternoon at 4:35 pm. The culprit was a blockage the size of a softball containing Mesquite beans, knocked off by a heavy storm...he ate a bunch. Make sure to rake them up and away from a heavy muncher! Thank you for everything you did for us Dr. Howard & team. You are all a blessing! The Hoffmann's and Taitos back at home today💕
