- **Accessibility Commitment:** The provision of wheelchair accessible parking and seating ensures the facility is physically accessible to a wider range of clients.
- **Women-Owned Business:** The identification as a women-owned business highlights the ownership structure of the veterinary hospital.
- **Comprehensive Diagnostics:** The clinic offers in-house capabilities such as Blood Tests, Fecal Testing, and Parasite Screening, which are crucial for quick diagnosis and treatment planning.

When evaluating any local business, especially one in the healthcare sector, local users rely on public feedback for a complete picture. The publicly available customer reviews for Christown Animal Hospital contain serious and specific negative accounts that potential clients in the Arizona region must consider as part of their decision-making process.
Several reviews allege significant service issues, including:
- **Staffing and Professional Misrepresentation:** Claims were made that pets were seen by a Vet Tech, Heather, instead of a licensed Veterinarian, and that the office routine may involve staff misrepresenting themselves or lying to patrons about who is providing the care. A specific incident mentions a Vet Tech performing a procedure (rectal examination with a dry Q-tip) that allegedly caused bleeding and extreme pain to a young puppy, which the reviewer described as 'Sooo dangerous'.
- **Lack of Consistent Veterinarian Coverage:** Reports indicate that the primary doctor, Doctor Sandhu, only works three days a week and does not arrange for a covering doctor during his yearly vacation, potentially leaving the hospital understaffed for medical oversight.
- **Customer Service Issues:** One detailed account describes an extremely negative interaction concerning a prescription refill request, where the client was allegedly yelled at by the front desk staff and subsequently informed by the veterinarian, Dr. Sandhu Gurjit, that they were banned from future visits simply for asking for clarification on dosage and pricing.
- **Prescription Issues:** Complaints noted difficulty in having prescriptions filled at external pharmacies and allegations of being charged a fee for the veterinarian to write a prescription.
The public feedback is largely critical, with some customers spending significant amounts of money over the years before ultimately seeking care elsewhere. One reviewer explicitly and strongly advises other pet owners to "stay away from this business" if they "really care about your dog or cat."
Given the highly contrasting information—a wide range of services listed versus severe public complaints regarding staffing, professionalism, and customer service—local pet owners in Arizona must proceed with caution.
The hospital does offer important services, such as emergency care, exotic animal treatment, and necessary preventative measures like vaccinations and dental work. However, the reported incidents of potential non-veterinarian care, lack of consistent professional coverage, and documented negative customer interactions are critical factors that should weigh heavily in a pet owner's decision.
Before choosing Christown Animal Hospital, prospective clients are strongly advised to investigate the current status of the practice, clarify who will be treating their pet, and confirm all protocols for prescriptions and emergency coverage.
Ultimately, selecting a veterinary provider is a personal decision that requires a balance of convenient location, necessary services, and, most importantly, confidence in the quality of care and ethical standards of the practitioners. The comprehensive data presented here, including both the listed services and the documented customer experiences, should aid Arizona residents in making a fully informed decision about the veterinary future of their beloved pets.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Doctor Sandhu sold this place and he only works three days a week , besides that he takes his yearly vacation and doesn't leave a doctor their to cover for him ! I spent thousands of dollars over the years and recently found a animal hospital much better than this place , if you really care about your dog or cat you will stay away from this business .
March 08 · Mark PHorrible Experience today!I asked the vet if he could write a prescription for our dogs medicine vs. having their office fill it and charge us. The other two medicines we did pay for to be filled right there. I took the prescription for Clavamox to my regular pharmacy but they couldn't fill it due to the amount of medicine being too small.(normally an adult dose needed would be in a larger amount) They suggested I get it through Chewy.com. but when I called Chewy the vet told me that the Vet that wrote the prescription would have to call it in or it had to be faxed from the Vets office. I figured I might as well just go get the medicine from the Vets clinic after all since it was only a few dollars difference.I went back to our Vets office to give them back the prescription(we were charged $11 initially for just the Vet having to write the prescription). I explained to them that my pharmacy couldn't fill it and that I would just purchase the med through them. I asked the front desk girl if they could deduct the $11 we had to pay for the prescription to be written from the cost of the medicine and she said she had to ask the Vet. After waiting about 10-15 minutes I told them to just forget it and that I would pay the full price for the medication because my mom was waiting in a hot car outside and we were in a hurry. After the girl handed me the medicine without giving me any instructions, I noticed that I only got 30 mls. of the medicine when the original prescription was for 50 mls..My first thought was that I didn't have enough medicine to give him based on the instructions from the original prescription. I asked the girl why I only got 30 mls and told her that I didn't think it would be enough. She then told me she would call the vet out to talk to me. Dr. Sandhu Gurjit came out and he ghen explained to me that the medicine he wrote for was a higher concentration. I then told him okay and that I understood. Next, I heard him whisper to the front desk lady that I was not to be seen ever again and to note it on the account.U was completely taken aback and questioned them as to why I could ever come back when all I was asking was for clarification on the dosage. The girl told me that I was yelling and being aggressive. Funny because my tone never got nasty and my voice had never gotten loud and in fact it was the girl that started yelling at me!I told their office I would be making a report to the Board of Veterinary Medicine because this office makes it a routine to have customers think their pet is being seen by a Veterinarian yet on many occasions my dogs were NOT seen by the Vet but instead were seen by the Vet Tech. Heather. On those occasions when she saw my dogs I was told that she was going to call the Veterinarian on the phone. My dogs also received prescription medicine without being visually seen by a licensed Veterinarian. In other visits with my animals I was told that my pet would be seen by the Vet and that that "Vet" would then call another Vet over the phone to confirm the plan of care. In other words I was lied to for a few years until I finally wised up and asked Heather myself if she was a Veterinarian and she then told me "no" that she was a Vet Tech..This office runs their clinic without a Veterinarian at the clinic most of the days and is lying to patrons making them think their pet is being seen by a Veterinarian. Finally, I had brought my barely 1 lb.,6 month old, Chihuahua in for vomiting and diarrhea and this Vet Tech Heather went and shoved a wooden handled, dry, Qtip an inch and a half up my puppies rectum causing her to bleed from her rectum and excruciating pain for days. Sooo dangerous! I had to fight to hold back tears as my puppy screamed in agony. Think twice about taking any animal to this Flop House of a clinic!FORCED TO LEAVE 1 Star
April 07 · Joelle AurmaniChristown Animal Hospital is amazing! No matter how short the notice is, they always act with urgency and care. They’ve taken such great care of my puppy, and you can truly tell that the doctors and team genuinely care about the animals they treat. I’m so grateful for their kindness, professionalism, and consistency. Thank you to the entire team for always being there when we need you. Highly recommend!
August 05 · GabePrescription policy needs to be updated. My dogs been on same meds for 4 years. I just need a refill but you want a vet visit and blood work which who can afford this when you just need a refill. A vet visit sure but not blood work when there's no cause for concern to need it.
October 06 · Ted NanceI love Christown Animal Hospital! I always feel listened to and well taken care of and, more importantly, that my doggies are well taken care of and generally cared for! I have been going there for a couple of years now and they always remember me and my dogs, it feels good going somewhere like that. Thank you!
