Soderstrom Veterinary Introduce
When a beloved pet in the Arizona community faces a complex health challenge that requires specialized attention—particularly advanced surgery or detailed diagnostics—local users turn to trusted referral centers. Soderstrom Veterinary, located in Phoenix, AZ, is a dedicated facility renowned for its expertise in specialized veterinary surgery and critical patient care. Led by Dr. Mark J. Soderstrom, this practice has established itself as an essential partner to primary care veterinarians across the region, offering advanced solutions for pets in need of complex orthopedic and soft tissue procedures.
Unlike a general practice, Soderstrom Veterinary focuses on providing high-level specialty services, often accepting patients who require advanced procedures following a diagnosis from their regular family veterinarian. This emphasis on referral-based surgery allows the team to maintain a high degree of focus, experience, and expertise in surgical disciplines. The facility is equipped to handle everything from intricate knee surgery—such as the kind that helped one customer’s "fur baby" recover and get "back to her normal self"—to managing pets with challenging and complex internal conditions, demonstrating patience and kindness throughout the treatment process, as noted by another grateful client dealing with a cat's "mystery illness."
A crucial element of their service is the commitment to utilizing cutting-edge diagnostic technology. The practice is equipped with State of The Art MRI capabilities, which are essential for visualizing the neurological system, soft tissues, and complex joint structures prior to surgery. Furthermore, access to Digital Radiography and comprehensive surgical suites allows the team to provide a seamless transition from advanced diagnosis to expert intervention. Pet owners can feel confident knowing their companion is receiving high-level care that is comparable to, and often exceeds, the standards found at large university or corporate referral hospitals, yet is delivered with the personalized, caring touch of a dedicated, local specialist. The aim is always to provide not only the best clinical outcome but also an overall experience that is manageable and reasonably priced for Arizona pet families.
The professional and kind nature of the staff, repeatedly highlighted by customer reviews, is a major component of the value offered. Dealing with a sick or injured pet is stressful; the team at Soderstrom Veterinary understands this and strives to make the surgical and critical care process as smooth and transparent as possible. Their consistent focus on excellent Patient Care and clear communication, including discussing all options and ensuring "reasonable" pricing that "dis not break the bank," makes them a highly recommendable choice for specialty veterinary needs in the greater Phoenix area.

July 22 · Monica JimenezDr Soderstrom is the best! My cat has had a mystery illness for a year. He has been so kind and patient in helping me help my poor kitty. I feel so lucky to have been referred to him. His office staff is also kind and amazing. It has made a stressful time so much more tolerable. Thank you Dr. Soderstrom and staff!
August 14 · Sarah BaumSimply the best! We can count on them when things are going very wrong in our world and know that we will be receiving the very best of care for our babies. Life was just up ended with an IVDD emergency and surgery was done immediately(same day) to prevent further damage. That's pretty amazing in our opinion. We aren't even close to being out of the woods but I know we will continue to have all their support to get us there. Thank you guys so very, very much! The Smathers family!
August 29 · Lori SmathersBrought my mom here her Pomeranian has a fractured paw, she’s tiny so the vet decided to cast her leg, instead of doing an expensive surgery she seems to be doing well, the vet is straight foward and explains everything clearly and the staff is very nice! Peggy is very nice and efficient
September 23 · Cabo chicaAbsolutely do not recommend. One: You can never get a real person on the phone 100% of the time you call. What you get is Peggy's Voicemail, you leave a message to only never hear back and to have to leave another message. Our dog Charlie has an injury to his leg, so we went for a surgery consult with Soderstrom. Soderstrom said it had nothing to do with his leg and that Charlie had a Brain Tumor, so we bought into it and paid $1600 for a CT of the brain. After the CT was done we never heard back from him on the results, until I called several times 3 weeks later. Finally hear back from Soderstrom who says the CT was negative and then says Charlie has fluid around his brain, so lets put him on Prednisone for 3 days and I'll call you back in 3 days to see how he's doing. AGAIN, NO CALL BACK this was 2 weeks ago and after I left several messages on Peggy's voice mail and still no call back. In fact when I tried to tell Soderstrom that this is a leg injury he appeared over the phone to get frustrated with me, telling me he knows what he's talking about. My thoughts. . Well, I to do and nothing Dr. Soderstrom has done has turned up any answers. The issue is I accidentally stepped on my dogs hind leg in the middle of the night, it was dark and I didn't see him. I felt how hard I stepped on him, not once but twice. When he moved I moved and I stepped on him again. I tore the meniscus in my knee from this accident when I lost my balance trying to get away from him and not hurt him again. Just be very careful proceeding with this vet. He doesn't return calls and he may lead you down a path of financial hardship with no results. We are starting over with a new surgeon today and I hope Charlie can get the attention and care he needs.
